Come train with me
Days will start by getting picked up by Mohammed, our Bedouin driver who has been working with freedivers for 20 years and is a massive favourite, a personality you won’t forget, sometimes he will bring his son Imran along for the ride dressed in his miniature galabiya just like dad.
We will head to the blue hole and base ourselves at Aqua Marina, a restaurant run by Ali Okab, another celebrity among the freedivers. Ali has seen everything in 15 years of hosting freedivers, he’s been with us celebrating PBs and and new records and is officially the nicest man in Egypt, fact!
No dive day should start without Fankoush, a warm orange and ginger tea to prepare us for the day. then the work begins.
We drift dive here, meaning we head out on boats and drop the buoys in, the boat floats along side us during the session ready to collect us when we are done.
There is the option of a counterbalast system and the worlds first buoy based sonar for added safety. Boat staff set up the lines for us so all you have to worry about is nailing your dives.
The Philippines is an underwater playground, chanced of marine animal encounters are high in these rich seas.
With a good selection of local gyms, and facilities like those at Superhome, I’m looking forward to teaching and starting my base season on the island.

We will spend time planning our dive sessions. I always let people enter the water with a clear outline and goals of what should be achieved in the session. Modest, measurable goals will be laid out so we can see progress in every training.
Then we prepare for the dive, either stretching, meditation, or eq drills, all crucial for your progress.
You will see just how perfect Dahab is for depth progression from the first moment you enter the water. minimal waves and no current, 30m visibility and a ridiculous amount of fish and coral.
With 29 degree water all year, some of the best visibility in the world and unlimited depth its easy to see why this island in the Philippines has become a major training location.
I base myself from Superhome, a super sleek and modern facility in the south of the island, this is real 5 star diving. Air con classrooms, coffee on tap, a purpose built pool, quiet areas for stretching and even rooms to rent make it an easy place to come to learn and train.
